Part-Time Lounge Associate
What This Is
Viso is a cigar lounge built around great cigars and common ground. People walk in as strangers and often leave knowing someone.
Your job is to help make that happen.
You’ll learn the humidor, help guests find cigars they’ll actually enjoy, keep the lounge looking sharp, and get to know the people who spend time here.
This is a hospitality job that happens to involve cigars.
If you’re great with people and don’t know much about cigars yet, we can teach you. If you know cigars but don’t genuinely enjoy talking with people and taking care of guests, this probably isn’t the right fit.
What You’ll Do
- Greet every guest who walks in and learn their names
- Walk the humidor with customers and make thoughtful recommendations
- Learn our cigar selection and help guests explore something new
- Run the register and accurately complete sales
- Keep the lounge, humidor, and retail areas clean, stocked, and ready for guests
- Talk with guests about Viso memberships and help with sign-ups
- Assist with brand nights, tastings, launches, and other lounge events
- Notice what needs to be done and take care of it without waiting to be asked
What We Need
- 21 years of age or older
- Comfortable working in an environment where cigar smoke and alcohol will be present
- Available evenings and weekends
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable starting conversations and engaging with a wide range of people
- Willing to learn
- Able to work independently while also being part of a small team
What Helps
These aren’t requirements, but they’re a plus:
- Bar, restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience
- Existing cigar knowledge
- Experience building relationships with regular customers
- A natural curiosity about people and what they enjoy
The Schedule
This position is approximately 10–15 hours per week, primarily evenings and weekends.
This is a part-time position and is expected to remain part-time. If you’re looking for 30+ hours per week, this probably won’t be the right fit, and we’d rather be clear about that from the beginning.
